I burn my everything bagel every day in the toaster oven b/c it tastes so much better with some black on it. Other than that, I burned (Ok, not really burned, more browned) the butter on Friday when I made scrambled eggs for breakfast. I didn't mind it, but others in the house didn't appreciate the extra flavor!

Actually, my dh is the last one who burned anything in the kitchen. Just last week he was heating up a chicken breast for my lunch and forgot he put it in the microwave for infinity. I kept telling him I smelled something burning and he told me I was insane. HA! His phone rang and I answered it, just to tell his brother that he was burning down the house. Took all day to get rid of the stench of the plastic it was in.

The last thing I burned in the kitchen was a disk of photos. I took live concert photos at a recent festival. I have not burned food in over 25 years. I have made some experimental dishes that were rated so ify we decided not to take the risk and ordered pizza instead. My husband got a new grill last Father's Day and burned dinner three nights in a row. We had pizza three nights in a row and the net time we ordered a pizza they actually asked if my husband had burned dinner on the grill again.

The last thing I burned in the kitchen was literally the kitchen. I was visiting my mom. Unbeknownst to me, she put the pizza box in the oven so her dog would not jump up on the counter and snag the pizza. Later, I put the oven on preheat, not bothering to see if their was something in the oven. When the smoke alarm went off I ran to see that the pizza box was in flames. I burnt my bangs, eye lashes, hand, oven, wall, and floor up before I got the fire put out. We all now keep extinguishers handy because of that little debacle.

I was cooking pork chops when the baby started crying, so i went to get her whatever she needed, took longer than i thought so the porkchops and skillet were on fire, i got the porkchops into a glass plate and set them on the stove, then got the fire out of the skillet, i noticed i had turned the other burner on instead of the one i was using off. the plate was on the burner getting cooked also. I grab the plate, set it on the cool counter the glass plate and pork chops explode all over the kitchen. we ended up eating mcdonalds that night.

One day I put some boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the oven, planning to cook them for aprox. 2 1/2 hrs. I like them extremely dry. Anywho, I went to town to run a couple errands, and somehow forgot I had anything in the oven. I didn't return home for almost 9 hrs. I could smell the smoke when I pulled up in front of my house.

The last thing I burned in the kitchen? That would be rice o roni. I swear, it seemed like two seconds that I turned away and then suddenly there was this interesting and singy oder coming from the pan. The tops of the rice looked fine. When I turned them they were completely black! Good thing I had another box.

Dante Pignetti in The Lords of Discipline. He was honourable in all that he did and was consistent and loyal, his end was tragic but was consistent to his character. He always stayed true to himself even when he was so obviously wrong. People like this are few and are golden.
