In Dystopian Chicago citizens are divided into 5 virtuous factions: Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Dauntless (the brave) and Erudite (the intelligent). Each citizen, on their sixteenth birthday, must undergo placement testing and make the final choice of which faction they will join.
Beatrice Prior is a sixteen year old facing that decision. She can remain with her family and the life she has always known, or she can become the person she has longed to be, but not both. The choice she makes that fateful day surprises everyone, most especially herself.

Venomous by Christopher Krovatin

Venomous was a very good book. It's about a boy with a very serious anger problem. His name is Locke Vinette and his anger is known as 'the Venom'. It takes him over and he does things normal people just wouldn't do, violent things. Don't get me wrong - the people who suffer at the Venom's wrath pretty much deserve it but it gets Locke into a lot of trouble and scares his friends and family. But Locke's life is about to change all because of one pretty, broken Goth girl named Renée.

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Picture

Published September 1, 2010 by Simon & Schuster

Picture
Hush, Hush  is, at its root, a story about a boy and a girl. But this is not your typical love at first sight, happily ever after book. Nora is less than impressed with Patch's mocking laughter, his evasion when asked personal questions, and his blasé attitude towards their school assignment. She also can't help but notice his too handsome face and wicked eyes. Nora puts up a good fight, but how long can she last against Patch's charisma? Things are not always as they seem. Nora has heard things that cannot be explained, and seen things that seemed to vanish into thin air. All she knows is something is going on, someone seems to be following her and she's not entirely sure it isn't Patch.
